Former Skid Row singer Johnny Solinger has died at age 55 after a battle with liver failure.
“We’re saddened to listen to the information of our brother Johnny Solinger,” the band wrote in a Fb publish. “Our ideas are along with his household, buddies and followers. Godspeed Singo. Say whats up to Scrappy for us.”
Solinger revealed his well being troubles to the world final month. “It’s with a heavy coronary heart I need to let everybody know what’s happening with me and my well being,” the vocalist wrote on Fb. “I’ve been hospitalized for during the last month. I’ve been recognized with liver failure. And prognosis just isn’t so good. As with most musicians I shouldn’t have medical insurance and it’s very tough to get correct care with out it.”
He went on to clarify that his therapy concerned “not less than seven totally different drugs” and that he wanted to have fluid drained from his stomach “each couple of days.” He continued, “I’ve misplaced a variety of power and would require bodily remedy as nicely.”
Solinger grew to become Skid Row’s lead singer when the band reformed in 1999 following their 1996 breakup and the acrimonious departure of Sebastian Bach. Solinger appeared on two albums and two EPs throughout his decade and a half with the band: 2003’s Thickskin, 2006’s Revolutions Per Minute, 2013’s United World Rise up: Chapter One and 2014’s Rise of the Damnation Military — United World Rise up.
