The BBC has launched first-look photos of its upcoming drama, Mr Loverman, starring Lennie James (Line of Obligation), Sharon D Clarke (Physician Who) and Tahj Miles (Demise in Paradise). 

The eight-parter, based mostly on Booker prize-winning creator Bernardine Evaristo’s best-selling 2013 novel, follows Barrington Jedidiah Walker (James), who’s described as a “seventy-four 12 months previous, Antiguan born, exuberant Hackney persona, famend for his dapper style and fondness for retro fits”.

Sharon stars as his spouse of fifty years, Carmel, who suspects Barry has been dishonest on her. “Little does she know what’s actually occurring: a secret, passionate affair along with his finest pal and soulmate, Morris,” reads the synopsis. 

“Now dealing with the ultimate chapter of his life, Barry has huge selections to make that can drive his complete household to query their futures.”
