Speak about a father-daughter duo. Some quarantine brainstorming led Mckenna Grace and her dad, Ross Burge, to jot down The Unhealthy Seed sequel, The Unhealthy Seed Returns. HollywoodLife spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Mckenna concerning the movie, and she or he revealed that the unique script she wrote along with her dad was “too darkish” for Lifetime.
“What I discover actually humorous is that the scripts that my dad and I offered Lifetime with, it was too darkish, so that they introduced in one other author to form of tone down our darkness somewhat bit. The script that my dad and I initially offered was too darkish,” Mckenna stated.
Whereas Mckenna is a full-time actress, her dad is an orthopedic surgeon. Each Mckenna and her dad wrote and government produced the movie. Mckenna famous that writing The Unhealthy Seed Returns along with her dad was a “actually cool” expertise to get to do collectively. “I actually love my dad. He’s so good every time it involves movie issues. He’s such a giant movie geek. It was actually cool to have the ability to do this with him,” she instructed HollywoodLife.
The Unhealthy Seed Returns picks up after a several-year time bounce. After a murderous rampage within the first film, Mckenna admitted that Emma has been “laying low. The 16-year-old actress/singer, who will likely be returning for The Handmaid’s Story season 5 and starring within the upcoming collection A Pal of the Household, isn’t going to cease writing any time quickly. Mckenna revealed that she and her dad are “at first processes of making an attempt to pitch a present that we wrote. I’ve been writing a script with a pal and one with my dad so it’s been fairly cool.”
As for a 3rd Unhealthy Seed film, Mckenna isn’t ruling it out. “I imply, perhaps. We’ll see. Provided that I get to direct it,” she quipped. The Unhealthy Seed Returns premieres September 5 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
