Yungblud has unveiled his third single of 2022, “Don’t Really feel Like Feeling Unhappy At present,” alongside a fan-featuring video filmed on London’s Southbank final week (June 20).
SPIN‘s April cowl star invited keen followers to make a splash within the clip (see NME‘s report about what went down). Earlier than police put a cease to it, followers had been drenched with water pistols whereas Yungblud carried out “Don’t Really feel Like Feeling Unhappy At present” on a flatbed truck. The near-riot was ultimately shut down for what police deemed overcrowding.
“My supervisor requested me, ‘What can we do, that nobody else does?’” Yungblud says of the video in a press release. “And the idea got here to us. Everywhere in the world I meet my followers within the streets, to really feel a connection … Put it this fashion — the fucking police everywhere in the world know once we’re city! So I stated, let’s roll some cameras, pull up a truck, no permits, no permission, inform folks to satisfy me at a location and have a large water struggle. Sing, scream and really feel collectively. Imperfect, uncooked, actual … pleased.”
The monitor offers additional hints concerning the sound of the British rocker’s forthcoming album, Yungblud, which he beforehand introduced will likely be launched on September 2. “Don’t Really feel Like Feeling Unhappy At present” was co-written by Yungblud and Matt Schwartz and executive-produced by Chris Greatti.
“I wrote this music on a morning once I didn’t even need to get off the bed,” Yungblud says. “I sat and seemed on the ceiling, head filled with a lot shit, studying what the Web was saying about me that day, and I simply didn’t really feel like feeling unhappy.”
